We've moved!

Hi all,

I've redone my Blog, and started a new! Check out my website to see my new blog. I haven't posted many times yet, obviously, but I wanted a new look, and I felt like it was time for a bit of a change since I am more experience with my flock than I was when I created my first blog. (which was when I had my first pair of rouens and was clueless.) so! please go check out the new set up, and follow me! we're known as "Harley's Haven. going to the ducks." Feel free to leave a comment. :)

WH Boy

This boy is so sweet, and friendly. He's so cute, but I have to sell this little guy. He isn't makin' the cut; I have  females that need space, and I'm not ready to deal with breeding, broody hens, and hormonal Drakes so I'll have to pass on this little guy, and once I'm ready for a male, and have more space than I'll be able to order some more ducklings.

isn't he cute? :)

My Metzer order arrived. (I am just slow posting it)

I got 5 Welsh harlequins, and 6 Buff Orpingtons; so they sent me one extra. I was so scared to open up the box they were sent in, but every single one is happy and healthy. I re-home four of the buff, and two of the welsh harlequins so I have three WH, and two buff left over. I have to widdle that down to just three ducklings, as I have nine Ancona eggs in the incubator going into lock down on Monday.

I need new pictures but here are the pics I took the first two or three days I had them.

This is Aurora, a gold phase girl
                                                      all the girls
buff girl in the front. Ella I think. She and Rosie look very similar!

Just can't wait!

I am thrilled to say that tomorrow my 10 ducklings will be boxed up, and shipped from Metzer's Hatchery in CA, to my house. They should get here on Wednesday morning.

These aren't my pictures, they were saved and taken off of either Google, or BackYard Chickens. Here's an idea of what my Welsh Harlequin, and Buff Orpingtons may look like as babies, and adults.

This beautiful girl is a Welsh Harlequin

This hen is a Buff Orpington

Blue Belle playing in the mud

Yesterday Blue belle went out to play in the garden puddles, but got scared when she couldn't see me... she started calling out frantically, so I stepped out from behind trees that were blocking her view of me, and said "Duck Duck Duck!" She came waddling as fast as her legs could carry her! I don't think she's going to know how to react when she realizes her mama has ordered ducklings, that will be here next Wednesday; and we've got little anconas in the incubator too. hmm, I'm gonna be over run by babies!! ;)

EGG, and duckling update

My two drakes have been sold, so I just have my swedish, and my ancona eggs right now. However, tomorrow I'll be ordering ducklings from Metzers. Hopefully I'll get a few buffs and a few harlequins.

My eggs are here!

Well, I wanted to post some pictures of my eggs. I got these from a BYC member, and I'm very excited about them! They're Ancona eggs, all colors are a possiblity. So I'm hoping that I'll get at least one lavender and one chocolate female out of it. *please lost of girls! I have too many boys!* One egg cracked, so i'm left with eleven to incubate.
